Springfield Court, Harrogate
Along Kings Road, after the bulking edifice of the Harrogate Convention Centre, sits a discreet new development, on the corner of Springfield Road: Springfield Court. Casting aside thoughts of Marge, Homer, Bart and Lisa (and the baby, Maggie, who never ages), it’s where our team conducted passive fire protection work, namely:
A cursory glance at property portals shows these starting from Newby Developments at £295,000 for a 2 bedroomed apartment up to £595,000 for an additional sleeping space. We are, however, not estate agents or property developers – our role is laser-focused on protecting people and buildings with passive fire protection services, across England.
Harrogate is a place we know well though, with 5 examples of work there – this case study forms a second after the last one at Beech Grove House, facing the Stray, that green 200 acre corridor that acts as a natural lung for this terrific town.
We like Harrogate and, given that our work there has encompassed: Regent House on Albert Street, Grosvenor Buildings on the Crescent, Herald Buildings in the Montpellier Quarter, Beech Grove House and Springfield Court, we got to know the town fairly well.

Harrogate Convention Centre
The Harrogate Convention Centre, next to Springfield Court, on Kings Road is one of the town’s most prominent landmarks, blending architectural heritage with modern facilities. Originally opened in 1982, the centre evolved from the earlier Royal Hall, a grand Edwardian theatre built in 1903 to host concerts and social gatherings during Harrogate’s spa era. Over time, the complex expanded to include large exhibition halls and conference spaces, reflecting the town’s growing reputation as a destination for business and culture. Today, it attracts major national and international events while maintaining its historic charm.

Harrogate is a gem of a town
Harrogate is a delight of a place to work in, with an eclectic mix of familiar chains and some well-known, and less well-known, independent businesses.
Springfield Court is a new addition to the property landscape in Harrogate.

Communal fire risk assessments at Springfield Court
Communal fire risk assessments are essential for ensuring the safety of residents and maintaining compliance in shared buildings such as apartment blocks and retirement complexes.
At Springfield Court in Harrogate, Block Compliance Ltd has carried out detailed fire risk assessments designed to identify hazards, evaluate existing precautions and recommend measures to reduce risk. The process focuses on all shared areas including stairwells, corridors, plant rooms and entrance halls, where the potential for fire spread and obstruction to escape routes is greatest.
