How Block Compliance Ltd ensures safer living: Building Safety Case Reports in Salford

In the wake of evolving building safety regulations across the UK, especially following the Building Safety Act 2022, the role of Safety Case Reports has never been more crucial. For property owners and managers in Salford, ensuring compliance while safeguarding residents is a top priority and Block Compliance Ltd is at the forefront of this mission.

With a dedicated team and a clear understanding of the local landscape, Block Compliance Ltd provides robust, tailored Building Safety Case Reports that not only meet legal requirements but also promote long-term peace of mind for stakeholders and tenants alike.

Salford

Salford, a city in its own right, that sits cheek by jowl with its more famous neighbour, Manchester, is separated by a river – the Irwell.

A river that wends down from its source at Deerplay Moor, Cliviger (Lancashire) via Bacup, Ramsbottom and Bury, before becoming the broad dividing line that runs almost parallel to Deansgate and Chapel Street.

Salford has its own cathedral, a distinguished university and some notable natives – Joseph Brotherton, a 19th century reforming MP and vegetarian activist is marked by a statue in the perfect Peel Park, and is regarded as the founder of the Borough of Salford. Sir Ben Kingsley, of Gandhi fame, is another Salfordian, along with countless others like Emmeline Pankhurst, as well as Fred Done, of Salboy and Bet Fred fame, and, of course, the poet, John Cooper Clarke.

Salford has seen huge regeneration, like its more famous riverside city, in recent years, with the area abutting the Irwell having modern gems like the green Eden Building, numerous commercial and residential towers.

Salford Quays and MediaCityUK

But the biggest footprint of urban regeneration can, arguably, be found at Salford Quays and MediaCityUK, where the Manchester Ship Canal terminates from its 58km route starting at the Irish Sea, at Eastham, Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.

Here, new buildings abound, as well as the striking architecture of the Imperial War Museum North, the Lowry theatre, before Manchester Docks closed in 1982 and redevelopment began in earnest in 1985. MediaCityUK was opened in 2007 and is always a pleasant place to visit, with ITV and the BBC based there, as well as a campus for the University of Salford.

Bronte and Madison Court, Salford

Our work in Salford took us to Bronte and Madison Court, which, despite the dual name, is a singular tower block with a distinctive vertical “stripe” breaking the architectural uniformity.  Its exact date of construction is not clear – but early 1960s is an educated guess – and it has 22 storeys with magnificent views from its apartments. It is close to Salford Precinct and the Quays, with Block Compliance Ltd carrying out Building Safety Case Reports there, recently.

Now for the more technical explanation of what a Building Safety Case Report is:

These reports are structured documents that demonstrate how building risks are identified, managed, and mitigated, in alignment with the Building Safety Act 2022. Our approach places resident safety at the forefront, combining thorough risk assessments, detailed documentation, and a proactive maintenance strategy.

A Safety Case Report outlines the key building safety risks – such as fire and structural hazard – and explains the control measures in place to reduce these risks to an acceptable level. Block Compliance Ltd works closely with building owners, responsible persons, and resident engagement teams to compile accurate and site-specific reports that meet the requirements set by the Building Safety Regulator.

Our team of experienced professionals ensures that every Safety Case Report is clear, evidence-based, and regularly updated. We use digital tools for data management and maintain transparent records of inspections, modifications, and incident histories. This structured and accountable reporting process not only helps buildings remain compliant but also fosters trust and reassurance among residents. At Block Compliance Ltd, we don’t just ensure buildings meet regulations, we help create safer living environments for all.

Block Compliance Ltd has national fire safety coverage

We do have national coverage for passive fire protection, although much of our work – fire risk assessments, fire door surveys, building safety case reports and passive fire surveys – would seem to indicate that the bulk of our work is in the north west.

Recent blog posts about two case studies in Liverpool, with many others in Manchester and Salford, will be added to with examples of our work in London and Birmingham.

We have two active social media channels with Instagram and LinkedIn and by following these channels, you will see that Block Compliance is indeed a national passive fire protection company.

Our team is experienced and expert, ably led by Richard Dempsey, and you can connect with Richard on LinkedIn directly here.
